Post Office Fun - Boise

Last Friday around five my fiance Andrew realized that he needed to send his hard drive back to get it replaced with a new one. This involved going to the nearest post office in a timely manner. Luckily they weren’t busy so we sent his hard drive off . That done, we were simply going to go home, but we realized that there was a park right by the post office that we’d never been to so we decided to check it out.
It was a nice park, with a wonderful pathway with warning signs along the river that stated ‘warning dam ahead’. Thinking of huge dams I really didn’t want to go anywhere near it but Andrew insisted that we go check it out. It took us a while to get there because it was clear on the other side of the park. The river was nice and calm in fact it didn’t look at all like it was about to cascade into a roaring scary dam.
That being said we were both surprised when all of a sudden the river just disappeared for a spit second. Really the dam wasn’t that big, but if a floater were to get caught they’d either get stuck or chomped to pieces. Frankly I didn’t want to know which.
Half of the river was stopped by a cement wall and the other closer half was the quite pathetic dam. It wasn’t huge or that frightening, but from the gated off angle it was; if one were to jump in right were the fence was blocking they’d probably die. I mean there could be undertows and other such things to suck a person under. Which made me getting close the fence non-existent.
After the dam made the water rapidly unsafe the water quickly trailed off in a more peaceful way until it stopped flowing on the half that had the dam on it. Really close to the dam there was a bridge which Andrew walked under with rocks almost blocking the flow of water so he was able to walk through safely.
Under the bridge he found pictures of birds that were really cool. I didn’t go under there with him because it was slightly dark and spooky. There were little birds and other arrays of birds but he coolest on was the biggest that was painted in shades of red and black. It was huge compared to the others. Also there was a quote about birds that was quite intriguing also.
After braving the dam we strolled along the pathway taking in all the beautiful scenery. There weren’t a lot of people around so we basically had the whole park to ourselves.
Soon after that it started to get dark. We walked back to the car, having enjoyed our ‘Post office fun’.

Just out of curiosity, which post office is this park next to?
