A fun Educational trip to The Nature Center - Boise

I was quite exited when we pulled into the Nature Center by the Fish and Game building. It wasn’t so much the feeling as being exited as really happy to get out of the house and go out into an outdoor setting. We set off and were happy to see that it was a nice area with a lot of trees and areas where wildlife could live and flourish without the disturbance of people.

Relaxing at Municipal Park

As we walked back to the car we walked through the grass and since we were wearing flip flops the sort of long grass felt good on our feet. I noticed that some of the trees looked really old and withered and weird to look at; though most of the trees weren’t as bad. We noticed that though cars were passing by they were barely noticeable as if they were totally cut off from the whole park. It was nice to be able to be in an area of peace and quite if only for a little while.

Lucky Peak Dam

Sunday Lucky Peak Dam had a spectacular gushing of water show from twelve to two. We looked it up on Google maps for directions and quickly started to drive since it took a half hour and we had only one more hour till the water gushing commenced. Almost there, we were caught in a long line of cars going across a tall scary bridge and people going to Lucky Peak. We sat in the line for nearly ten minutes while I contemplated just how frightening the bridge truly was;

Diversion Dam and The New York Canal-Boise, Idaho

Diversion Dam & The New York Canal on the Boise River, are another of those wonders of human invention that we probably pass without much thought. For me, the old dam & canal were passing landmarks as dad trucked us kids up to one of his favorite fishing holes.

A Saturday Night in Downtown Boise

I, previous to last Saturday night had never been downtown on a weekend. When I told my fiancé that troubling news he quickly made up his mind to take me so I could see what I had been missing. I had definitely missed a lot. Obviously I couldn’t go to the bars or any of the clubs, but I could see the night-life.

An exiting PoJos adventure! Date night in Boise.

As a Friday night treat Andrew took me out to PoJos which was one of our very first dates. I myself was really excited to go back, because unlike Chucky Cheese teenagers and adults can also look cool playing the arcade games and bumper cars.

Harris Ranch & Ben - The Wayward Elk - Boise Idaho

It was around 6:30AM, when I turned East on Warm Springs. Towards the end of the avenue I passed Adams Elementary School, the Trolley House Cafe and the turn-off to the old Idaho State Penitentiary.

About a mile down the road from the old state pen, was the Warm Springs Golf Course to my right. As I entered the narrow and winding road that loops around Warm Springs Mesa, I was startled by a young “Muley,“ (Mule Deer), that hopped a concrete barrier and bounded up the hill to my left. For locals and daily drivers, this is well known. But if your new to the area or a visitor, heed the signs about Wildlife Crossings!

To Market to Market in Caldwell Idaho

Farmers Markets can be a pleasant place to browse on a warm day, and a great way for the general public to meet people with something homegrown or homemade to sell. Several communities around the valley have a Farmers Market that runs weekly from late spring through early fall, and while many of them set up on Saturday mornings, Caldwell’s appears every Wednesday evening from 5:00-8:00.

Veterans Memorial Park Trek # Two

We continued on the path that in itself had a design imprinted on it; with most of the path a light cement color and then in the middle a separate darker color. It was interesting to walk on because it wasn’t all even. We saw even more branches/logs in the water non-moving and almost identical. Soon there was a hilly dirt path that if a person were

Veteran’s Memorial Park-Boise

The day after our almost disastrous date night we decided to go to a place that the plans couldn’t go awry at. So we so carefully chose the Veteran’s Memorial Park. And indeed nothing did go wrong. Because who could possibly mess up visiting a park they’d never been too or hadn’t in years? First off it was much easier to find, almost. This time we actually had directions written down, but we did have to take the scenic route first and this time it wasn’t because of bad directions we just missed a sign that I failed to mention.
